What's behind most iPhone problems?
iPhones are well built but they take a lot of daily punishment. Most faults come down to a handful of causes:
- Impact damage from drops — even a short fall onto a hard surface can crack the screen, damage the LCD underneath, or loosen internal connectors
- Battery wear from charge cycles — iPhone batteries degrade over time and most need replacing after 2-3 years of daily use
- Charging port wear — plugging and unplugging dozens of times a day, often at an angle, takes its toll on the Lightning or USB-C port
- Liquid damage — iPhones have water resistance ratings but they're not waterproof, and moisture in the wrong place causes corrosion that can show up days later
- Third-party repair quality — Face ID issues and touch problems after a screen repair elsewhere are often down to the quality of parts or the care taken during the repair

Here are some of the most common questions we get asked. You might find it helpful to read through.
Most screen repairs are done in 30 minutes. If we need to order a part for a less common model it may take a day or two, but for current models we carry stock and can usually do it while you wait.
Done correctly with quality parts, no. Face ID is tied to the original front camera and sensor array — as long as those components are handled carefully and not damaged during the repair, Face ID continues to work. This is one of the reasons repair quality and parts quality matter. If you’ve had a screen repair elsewhere and Face ID stopped working, bring it in and we’ll take a look.
Turn it off immediately if it’s still on and don’t try to charge it. Bring it in as soon as you can — the sooner we can assess liquid damage, the better the chances of preventing corrosion from causing further problems. Even if it seems to be working fine after getting wet, a check is worth doing.
>Depends on the model and the repair. A battery replacement on an iPhone 12 or 13 that’s otherwise working well is almost always worth it. A screen replacement on an iPhone X where the cost approaches what a decent second-hand 13 would cost — that’s worth having the conversation about first. We’ll give you an honest comparison.
