About Buzztime Electronics

We’re a small local repair shop at 141 Auburn Road, Hawthorn. No call centres, no sending your device interstate, no dealing with someone who’s never actually held a soldering iron.

When you book with us, you get us – not a subcontractor dispatched from a call centre. Just a tight-knit team who genuinely enjoy figuring out what’s wrong and fixing it.

The Team

Ed - Lead Technician

Ed came to Australia over 30 years ago with a degree in electrical engineering and an almost instinctive ability to diagnose hardware problems. He spent years in the corporate sector managing computer fleets for major banks before deciding the rat race wasn’t for him and striking out on his own.

He’s been running repair businesses in Melbourne’s inner east for well over a decade, and other IT repair companies across Melbourne regularly call him in when a problem is beyond their usual team. These days he handles the more complex jobs in-store and covers onsite repairs across Melbourne’s inner east and north. Outside of work he’s an accomplished handyman, enjoys music, and likes to relax with friends.

Michael - Store Manager

Michael grew up locally and studied in Camberwell before heading to Queensland to start his repair career. He’s worked across phones, tablets, laptops, MacBooks, and PCs over more than 15 years in the industry and has seen just about every fault a device can throw at you. He first crossed paths with Ed in 2019, worked together on and off, then joined full-time in 2022. He handles most of the in-store repairs day to day. When he’s not at the bench he sketches and paints, enjoys a glass of red, and has a taste for jazz and old-school offbeat music.

Karthik - Operations and Marketing

Karthik partners with Ed on the business side, looking after operations, admin, and marketing. Joined in 2022 when Buzztime Electronics was rebranded to its current form. A foodie and anime fan who keeps things running behind the scenes.

     Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I hired Buzztime Electronics to help my neighbour Joe who is 90 years old.  He had an old computer with a small hard drive storage with less than 350mb memory free memory.  Joe couldn’t print anything and had issues saving any documents. Michael from buzztime came home and picked up the computer.  They backed up all the contents before upgrading the storage.  Michael came back and connected the computer the internet and printer  and minimised the change for Joe. It was a good experience and I will use them again.

Had to get the keyboard of my laptop replaced, being able to hold onto my laptop while the replacement part was ordered in after placing my deposit was incredibly helpful, the repair was really quick, and the overall result has been great. Michael was very helpful and I will definitely be coming back for any future repairs

     Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. i came in looking for answers and FIRST OFF wasnt over charged for a simple diagnoses but also had the lovely michael himself help me resolve my issue. my iphone 12 finally wanted to kick the bucket and i was delighted to know if it was worth salvaging thanks to buzztime eletronics. saving myself the 300 bucks for a new board and instead opting to sort myself with a new phone. 12/10 definitely recommend this store and advise you if your in the area head over to get yourself sorted.

My iPhone 11 screen was completely smashed and they fixed it in just 30 minutes. The service was super quick, professional, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. My phone is working perfectly again, and I couldn’t be happier with the result.
